New Year, New Home, New Opportunities.

We're one month into 2024 and we've officially been adjusting to our new home (plenty more to come on these adventures) and most of all, we've enjoyed taking in the 10 acres of land that came with the new home.

Getting to get out and enjoy the FEET of snow that we got dumped on us in January was a huge blessing. I (N) work in public education and have the additional blessing of adult snow days occasionally. There's something about snowshoeing through feet of snow (knowing that if you were just in boots, you'd be huffing even harder than I was on this hike) with mostly ease and taking in the quiet of nature. There's a soul connection to the land in the calm of the sound of quiet while being surrounded by inches of snow, buffering the world around you.

The snow was so heavy it created a natural snow tunnel. This was 12-14" of snow. I like when the world makes me feel small.

There's so much peace to be found in allowing yourself to just be and let nature take over the rest. Sometimes it will test you.

Sometimes it will bless you.

Other times it will just be, with you, as you are and as it is.

Before we moved into our now tiny home, we had to clear it of its many leftover contents. Some of which were outdated pianos and an organ; the process of trying to sell or even donate was going to be more of a hassle than relocating them to our back property for future 'nature art' possibilities. Or if you're like our nephew, you might just think its 'creepy'.

here's your nature nerd message: when life dumps on you--get out and stomp through it until you find some beauty.

it's out there, you just have to see the obscure.
